S.E.A. Assessment – Kitesurf

kitesurf S.e.a. assessment safety

What's the first thing that you should do once you arrive on the spot? Yes i know that you just want to pump your kite and go kiting full power, but this could be one of the stupidest things that you can do !

SO PLEASE, LOOK AROUND! check where the wind come from, look for any possible dangers and watch the other people already in the water!

As we're on the spot (specially on a new one!!!) the first think to do is always the S.E.A. assessment!

What it means S.E.A.?

-SPOT: Understand the wind direction, check where your wind window is, upwind and downwind dangers, wind obstacles and surface dangers (on the land and in the water).

-ENVIROMENT: Wind speed and direction, weather and, specially in the ocean, the tides.

-ACTIVITY: How your activity interacts with what surround you (people and other activities around you).

This check may require some time, specially in the beginning, but this can save your session and avoid big problems!

For any info about Fuerteventura's spots you can contact us!

Have fun and ride carefully!
